Forest Partnership Blooms

Added 03.07.16

Almost a decade after the roots of James Latham’s partnership with the National Forest were established, the relationship continues to blossom.

In celebration of 25 years of The National Forest, James Latham has agreed to become lead sponsor on the new site at Charnwood, creating a further 3.5 hectares of forest habitats.

Latham’s relationship with the National Forest goes back to 2007 when 250 trees were planted at the Nanpantan site to celebrate the company’s 250th anniversary.

Chris Sutton, Chairman and Managing Director of Latham Limited explained, “The National Forest is the boldest environmentally led regeneration project ever seen in this country and woodland cover is now at 20% with over 8.5 million trees planted. The aim is to achieve forest cover across a third of the 200 square miles of the Forest and we are delighted to be supporting it.”

As part of the sponsorship, throughout 2016/17, James Latham will be organising tree planting and woodland management activities for customers, suppliers and staff and on completion of the new site at Charnwood, a visitor panel describing the site with useful information for the public will be installed and James Latham will be acknowledged as the lead private sector supporter of the site.

Lynne Richards, Head of Fundraising at the National Forest said, “To date James Latham has created three hectares of new forest as part of the larger 41 hectare Nanpantan Road site, including woodland, parkland, grassland and wild flower meadow and we are thrilled that they have agreed to extend this to 6.5 hectares, especially in our 25th anniversary year.”
